competitive events held during the 2009-2010 competitive season:
ETC Gymnastics
finishes second in Knoxville
ETC's optional women's team and men's teams traveled to Knoxville and
came home with two second place trophies and one third. At level 7,
Kendall Hughes, 10, led the girls with a first place AA finish. She was
first on bars, third on beam and floor, and fourth on vault. Zoe Schott,
11, placed third AA. She was first on floor, second vault, fifth bars,
sixth beam. Meg Tomayko, 11, placed fifth AA. She was second on vault,
fifth on bars, eighth on beam, and tenth on floor. Kaitlyn Roller, 11,
was sixth AA. She was third bars, and tenth beam. Alyson Rock, 12,
placed seventh AA. She was third on bars and seventh on vault. Alexa
Person, 11, also finished seventh AA, fourth on bars, eighth vault, and
ninth beam. DeLaina McDonald, 10, placed first on beam and sixth on
floor. Mackenzie Harris, 9, was eighth on floor. Lauren Walker, 11, was
tenth on vault. Lauren Allen, 12, was twelveth on vault. Elizabeth
Jordan, 11, was thirteenth on bars. The team earned second place.
ETC's level 9s were Casey Neeley, 13, who was third AA. She placed
second on bars, fourth on both vault and floor and fifth on bars and
Cassidy Best, 13, who took fourth AA with a first place finish on beam,
sixth on bars, seventh on vault, and ninth on floor. At level 10,
Kourtland Thompson, 15, was fourth on vault, fifth on floor, and tenth
on beam. Alyssa Dupie, 15, didn't compete due to injury. The girls are
coached by Ken and Jennifer Harris, Shannon Lee, and Jenna Lloyd.
The men's team was led by Ben Waldecker, 12, level 6 who finished second
AA. He was first on high bar, second on floor, pommel and parallel bars,
third on vault, and twelfth on rings. At level 5, Landen McDonald, 12,
placed first AA. He was also first on floor and vault, second on rings
and parallel bars, and third on pommel and high bar. Matthew Russell,
16, placed second AA. He was first on rings, parallel bars, and high
bar, second floor, third pommel and eighth vault. Tristan Sanders, 11,
was seventh AA, fourth on pommel, sixth rings, seventh high bar, tenth
floor. Brenden Brooks, 13, third AA. He was second on high bar, third
parallel bars, floor, and rings, fifth pommel, and sixth vault. Micah
Russell, 13, was second on pommel and fourth on rings, vault and
parallel bars. The level 5 team placed second.
The men's level 4s were led by Blake Hutchins, 10, who placed first AA.
He was first on parallel bars, second on floor and rings, third on
pommel, fourth on high bar and seventh on vault. Garrett White, 8, was
fourth AA. He was first on floor, third parallel bars, fourth rings and
high bar, eighth pommel, and eleventh vault. David Showalter, 9, placed
fifth AA. He was second on parallel bars, sixth floor, seventh pommel,
eighth rings, tenth vault, and thirteenth high bar. Hunter Harris, 6,
was sixth AA, third high bar, fifth pommel and parallel bars, seventh
rings, eleventh vault. Casey Couch, 9, finished seventh AA, fifth rings,
sixth floor and parallel bars, tenth pommel, fourteenth vault, and
sixteenth high bar. The level 4 team won second place. The boys are
coached by Brett Aplin and Brian Smith.


ETC Gymnastics claims eleven state titles
Etc gymnastics adds eleven state champion titles and one team
championship to their lengthy list of accomplishments. The level six
team brought home the first place trophy from the Tennessee Compulsory
Championship. The team was led by Lauren Walker, 11, who was named the
All-Around State Champion with a 37.675. She was also Bars State
Champion with 9.475. She was second on beam, 9.6 and third on both
vault, 9.3 and floor also 9.3. Close behind was Frankie Palmer, 10, who
earned the silver in the All-Around with 37.375. She was also silver
medalist on floor, 9.175, third on both vault, 9.775 and bars, 9.2. She
finished seventh on beam, 9.225. Erin Gilbert, 10, earned sixth in the
AA with 36.650. She was fifth on vault, 9.475, sixth on both bars,
8.925, and beam, 9.45 and ninth on floor, 8.8. Becca Gilbert, 10, placed
seventh with 36.625 in the AA. She was third on beam, 9.525, fourth on
bars, 9.075, fifth on floor, 9.025, and twelfth on vault, 9.0. Fiji
Frantzen, 12, achieved a second place AA with 36.525. She was State
Champion on bars with 9.375. She earned silver on vault with 9.475,
fourth on beam, 9.075, and sixth on floor, 8.6. Hannah Claire Candlish,
10, placed eighth in the AA with 36.25. She was fourth on bars, 9.075,
eighth on beam, 9.175, eighth on floor, 8.975, and eleventh on vault,
9.025. Faith Hutchins, 11, was seventh AA with 33.35. She was sixth on
beam, 9.3, and seventh on vault, 8.85. Jaicea Hazelwood, 12, competed
three events due to injury and placed fourth on both vault, 9.4 and
bars, 8.7.
The level four team earned the third place trophy. They had six girls
claim one or more State titles. Kylie Hunter, Makayla Brock, Kacey
Boston, Sadie Korbieh, Erin Burns, an Haley Hutchens. Anna Hall, 8, led
her team with the highest AA score, 38.025. She placed third AA in her
age group. She was second on floor, 9.7, third vault, 9.775, sixth beam,
9.375, and eighth bars, 9.175. Kylie Hunter, 7, earned AA State Champion
with 37.9, and State Champion on Bars with 9.55. She was second on
floor, 9.6, fourth beam, 9.35, and fifth vault, 9.4. Bella Arias, 8,
finished fifth AA with 37.525. She was second on bars, 9.5, sixth vault,
9.55, and ninth beam, 9.25. Sadie Korbieh, 7, was State Champion on Beam
with 9.45. She earned sixth on bars, 9.275, eighth vault, 9.35 and ninth
floor, 9.3. Lily Baxter, 7, placed third AA with 37.35. She was second
on bars, 9.5, fifth beam, 9.225, and sixth floor, 9.375. Kyndall
Gilbert, 7, placed sixth AA with 36.95. She was second on vault, 9.5,
seventh bars, 9.25, and ninth beam, 8.925. Makayla Brock, 6, was second
AA with 36.775. She was Beam State Champion with 9.4, silver on floor,
9.475, third bars, 8.9, and sixth vault, 9.0. Amanda Hunt, 8, placed
thirteenth AA with 36.75. She was fifth on bars, 9.275, eleventh floor,
9.45, and thirteenth vault, 9.375. Kacey Boston, 7, was AA State
Champion with 36.4. She was Vault State Champion with 9.525. She was
second on bars, 9.075, second beam, 8.75, and fourth floor, 9.05. Maddee
Grace Candlish, 6, earned third AA, 36.425. She was second on both
vault, 9.425 and bars, 9.275, fourth beam, 8.9, and sixth floor, 8.825.
Sarah Kate Spielman, 8, finished with 35.725 and seventh on vault, 9.5.
Erin Burns, 9, was sixth AA with 35.575. She was State Champion on floor
with 9.2, second on bars, 8.925, and fifth vault, 9.4. Haley Hutchens,
6, was also sixth AA with 34.65. She was State Champion on Vault, 9.475,
and fourth on floor, 8.975. Sarah Parsons, 7, finished with 33.7 AA. She
was seventh on floor, 8.925.
Etc's level 5 team finished fifth. Savannah Newsome, 8, led her team
with a 37.475 AA finishing fifth. She was second on beam, 9.65, fourth
bars, 9.4, seventh vault, 9.075, and eighth floor, 9.35. Kelci Williams,
10, was seventh AA with 37.0. She was sixth on vault, 9.375, seventh
bars, 9.275, and tenth on beam, 9.3. Camryn Arias, 9, placed ninth AA
with 36.375. She was fourth on vault, 9.3. Megan Scott, 8, was seventh
AA with 36.175. She was sixth bars, 9.25, and seventh beam, 9.05. Skylar
Pitman, 9, finished with 35.925. She was fifth on bars, 9.3, sixth
vault, 9.125, and eleventh floor, 9.225. Haleigh Timberlake, 8, scored
35.825 AA and taking eighth on vault, 9.0. Regan Smith, 8, finished with
35.1. She was fifth on bars, 9.275. Grace Bertoli, 10, placed ninth on
bars, 9.125. Alexandria Kromah, 9, finished eleventh on bars, 9.05. and
Abbigail Morrow, 10, scored 34.525 in the AA. The teams are coached by

dominates at Music City Invitational
Etc
gymnastics' level six girls earned the championship trophy in Franklin,
Tn after competing in the Music City Invitational. They were led by
Frankie Palmer, 10, who received gold on every event including the
All-Around. She scored a 37.05 total score to claim top honors. She also
received the “Show Stopper” award for the floor routine that was deemed
most impressive by the judges. She scored 9.7 on bars, 9.15 on vault,
9.1 on beam, and a 9.1 on floor. Lauren Walker, 11, also earned gold in
the All-around with 36.1. She was first on bars with 9.35, and first on
floor with 9.25, sixth on vault, 8.95, and seventh beam, 8.55. Becca
Gilbert, 10, took second AA with 35.1. She was second on beam with 9.0,
fifth on vault, 8.85, third bars, 8.7, eighth floor, 8.55. Erin Gilbert,
10, placed third AA with 34.925. She was third on vault, 8.95, third on
floor, 8.95, sixth beam, 8.625, and fourth bars, 8.4. Hannah Claire
Candlish, 10, earned sixth AA, 34.25. She was second on bars, 8.95,

Hutchins, 11, took ninth in AA with 33.2. She was tenth on floor, 8.35,

with an injury and placed twelveth on beam.

Etc's
levels 4, 5 and 6 competed recently at the Intrigue Invitational at the
Opryland Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center. The level 4 team came away
with a second place finish with two of their gymnasts earning the title
of All-Around Meet Champion. Anna Hall, 8, led her team with a 37.725 in
the AA taking the gold medal. She was also first on Vault, 9.65. She
placed second on Floor, 9.6, Beam, 9.5 and Bars, 8.975. Kylie Hunter, 7,
finished close behind with a 37.65 taking the silver. She was silver
medalist on Floor, 9.675, Vault, 9.6, and Beam, 9.5. She placed fifth on
Bars, 8.875. Also finishing in the 37 club was Lily Baxter, 7, with
37.125 taking bronze. She was third on Bars, 9.15, fourth Beam, 9.05,
fifth Floor, 9.475 and eighth Vault, 9.45. Amanda Hunt, 8, took fourth
in the AA with 36.525. She was first on Bars, 9.225, and seventh on both

levels fours, fives, and sixes made their season debut in Gallatin, Tn.
The level fours finished second place with a team score of 111.075. Anna
Hall, 8, Kylie Hunter, 7, and Maddie Grace Candlish, 6, all finished
first in the All-Around in their respective age groups. Anna took top
honors with a 37.65. She was also first on beam with 9.525, second on
vault, 9.75, second on floor, 9.275 and third on bars, 9.1. Kylie
finished with 36.75 and was also first on bars, 9.5 and beam, 9.15, she
was fifth on floor, 8.825. Lily Baxter, 7, was third AA with 36.175,
second on beam, 9.0, eighth vault, 9.475, ninth floor, 8.5. Bella Arias,
8, placed sixth with 35.675 AA. She was fourth on bars, 9.075 and sixth

gymnastics sent two of their level 9
girls to compete at the National level in Tupelo, Ms for the Level 9
Eastern National Championships. Alyssa Dupie, 15, finished with a 36.275
All-Around placing fourteenth overall. She was third on Balance Beam
with a 9.3 and placed twelfth on floor with a 9.275. She was also
sixteenth on Uneven Bars with 8.7 and twenty first on Vault with 9.0.
Maddie Tallman, 14, finished in ninth place in the All-Around with a
35.75. She was fourth on floor with 9.25 and sixth on Balance Beam with
9.2. She also placed nineteenth on Uneven bars with 8.5 and nineteenth
on Vault with 8.8.
Both girls qualified for Nationals by
ranking in the top six of their age group in the All-Around at Regionals.

sends Nine to Regional Championships
 At
level eight, nine, and ten the girls competed against the top gymnasts
in the region from Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Cassidy Best, 13, level 8,
placed second All-Around with 37.625. She was second on beam, 9.45,
third on vault, 9.45, fourth on bars, 9.45, and sixth on floor, 9.275.
At level 9, Maddie Tallman, 15, scored a 36.275 All-Around placing
sixth. She was fifth on beam with 9.1, eighth on floor, 9.2, ninth on
vault, 9.125, and ninth on bars, 8.85. Alyssa Dupie, 16, scored 35.05
placing fourth AA. She was third on bars, 9.05, fourth on floor, 9.1,

The level five boys also competed at
the regional level in Miami, Florida. Ben Waldecker, 11, finished in
second place with an 89.8. He tied for first on vault with 14.85, placed
second on high bar with 15.1, second on parallel bars, 15.0, third on
floor, 15.4 and sixth on pommel, 14.7. Landen McDonald, 11, also
competed at level 5 regionals scoring 13.2 on floor, 12.9 on vault, and

earns Seventeen State Titles
ETC’s boys and girls gymnastics
teams competed in the State Championships bringing home seventeen State
titles. Two of those titles were All-Around State Champions. Alexis
Taylor, 14, finished first at level ten and Ben Waldecker, 11, was gold
medalist at level five. Other state titles include Tennessee Vault
Champions: Alexis Taylor, Patrice Sims, 17, level 9, and Cassidy Best,
13, level 8. Tennessee Bars Champions include Alexis Taylor, Reagan
Best, 16, level 9 and Men’s High Bar Champion Ben Waldecker and Men’s
Parallel Bars Champion Brenden Brooks, 12, level 4. Balance Beam State
Champions are Maddie Tallman, 14, level 9 and Cassidy Best. Tennessee
Floor Champions are Alexis Taylor, Patrice Sims, Ben Waldecker, and
Brenden Brooks. Men’s State Champion on Rings is Brenden Brooks. Men’s
State Champion on Pommel Horse is Tristen Sanders, 11, level 4.
At level ten, Alexis Taylor was also awarded a silver on Balance Beam.
At level nine, Casey Neeley, 13, earned a silver on Bars and Alyssa
Dupie, 15, earned a silver on Floor. Ben Waldecker earned a silver on
Parallel Bars and Brenden Brooks earned silvers on Pommel Horse, Vault,
High Bar, and second in the All-Around. Tristen Sanders took silver on
Floor.
At level 4, Blake Hutchins, 8, placed fifth on Parallel Bars, and tenth
on both Floor and High Bar. Joe David Bell, 6, placed ninth on High Bar.
Tristen Sanders, placed fourth on Parallel Bars, sixth on High Bar,
seventh on Rings, and third in the AA. The level 4 team placed fifth. At
level 5, Ben Waldecker, placed fourth on Rings, fifth on Vault, and
seventh on Pommel Horse. Ben and level 5 teammate, Landen McDonald, 11,
both qualified for Regionals in Miami, Florida.
At level seven, Meg Tomayko placed third on Vault and tenth on Bars. At
level 8, Cassidy Best earned fifth in the AA and ninth on Bars. At level
9, Casey Neeley, placed third on Floor, fifth on Beam, seventh on Vault,
and third in the AA. Kourtland Thompson, 14, placed third on Vault.
Maddie Tallman, took third on Vault, fifth on Floor, sixth on Bars, and
fifth AA. Alyssa Dupie, placed fourth on Beam, seventh on Vault, and
seventh AA. Patrice Sims, earned third on Balance Beam, and fourth AA.

ETCʼs
girls teams traveled to Knoxville for the Optional State Championships
coming home with a Level 9 State Runner Up Title missing first by .5.
Individually the girls earned seven State Champion Titles.
Alexis
Taylor, 13, earned three of those by becoming the All-Around State
Champion with a 36.925. She was also gold medalist on Bars with a 9.475
and champion on Beam with 9.35. She rounded out her accomplishments with
a bronze on Vault, 8.925 and bronze on Floor, 9.175. Maddie Tallman, 13,
finished second in the AA with 36.55. She was also silver medalist on
Bars, 9.325 and second on Beam, 9.25. She earned forth on both Vault,

and Bars, 9.45. She placed third on Beam with 9.2. ChaʼNise
Dalton, 11, earned fifth AA with 36.975. She was the silver medalist on
Floor with 9.6. She earned third on Vault with 9.4. Rounding out her
accomplishments was a tenth place finish on Beam, 9.1 and thirteenth on
Bars, 8.875. Sarah Gerry, 10, earned sixth AA with 36.275. She was
bronze medalist on Beam with 8.95. She finished fifth on Bars with

boys team participated in the State Meet in Nashville. They earned six
State Titles. Leading the was Wesley Lemmons, 12, who finished as State
All-Around Champion at Level 4 with 54.25. He was State Champion on
Parallel Bars, 9.5; Champion on High Bar, 9.1; Champion on Pommel, 8.8;
and Champion on Rings, 8.95. He also earned silver on Floor, 9.2; and
bronze on Vault, 8.7. Brennan Brooks, 10, earned fifth AA with 51.55. He
was forth on Pommel, 8.6; sixth on Rings, 8.65; and seventh on Floor,
8.8. Landen McDonald, 10, broke his finger three days before the
competition keeping him from competing on two of the six events. He was
still able to earn silver on Parallel Bars, 9.0 and bronze on Floor,
9.1. He also finished fifth on Vault, 8.9 and fifth on Pommel, 8.5.
Blake Hutchins, 8, earned eleventh on P. Bars; twelfth on Vault, 8.9 and
sixteenth on Floor, 8.6.
At Level 5, Ben Waldecker,10, earned the State
Champion Title on Floor with 9.85. He earned bronze on Vault, 9.15;
forth on High Bar, 9.3; twelfth on Pommel, 8.2; thirteenth on P. Bars,
8.7. He earned ninth in the AA with 53.0. Blake Taylor, 10, earned
eleventh on Vault, 9.0 and twelfth on Floor, 8.95. Both Level 5 boys

ETC Girls Gymnastics Teams fought hard in Orlando, Florida and came away
with first, second, and fifth place finishes. The level 5 team brought
home the first place trophy with three girls placing first All-Around.

AA, 33,875. She was tenth on Bars, Beam, and Floor, thirteenth on Vault.
The Level 9 team placed fifth. They were led by Alexis Taylor who scored
a 35.875 in the AA taking forth. She was first on Beam, forth on Bars,
fifth on Floor, and eighth on Vault. Alyssa Dupie was second AA with
35.6. She took first on Bars, forth on Vault, fifth on Floor, and
seventh on Beam. Jordan Sims was seventh AA with 34.75. She placed
second on Vault, forth on Bars, ninth on Floor, and eleventh on Beam.
Maddie Tallman placed eighth AA with 34.725. She was third on Bars,
seventh on Vault, ninth on Floor, and tenth on Beam. Casey Neely skipped
level eight and competed as a level nine placing ninth in the AA with
33.125. She was seventh on both Beam and Floor, ninth on Vault, and
tenth on Bars. The optional level girls are coached by Ken and Jennifer

Franklin

ETC Boys’ Gymnastics Team showed their strength in Franklin recently.
The level 4 team placed fifth. Leading the way was Landen
McDonald, 10, with a 53.2 All-Around score placing third. He took first
in two events: Vault with a 9.3 and Rings with a 9.2. He placed second
on Parallel Bars with 8.9 and second on Pommel
with
8.7. He secured a third place finish on Floor with a 9.1 and fifth on
High Bar with 8.0. Wes Lemmons, 12, took forth in the AA with 51.95. He
placed second on both High Bar, 8.6 and Floor, 9.25. He was forth
on both Parallel Bars and Pommel with 8.7 and 8.3. He placed eighth on
Rings, 8.2 and ninth on Vault, 9.1. Brennan Brooks, 10, placed sixth AA
with 49.9. He was sixth on Parallel Bars, 8.4, and sixth on Pommel, 7.7.
He placed seventh on Rings and Vault, 8.6 and 9.1. He placed eighth on
High Bar and Floor, 7.6 and 8.5. Blake Hutchins, 8, placed ninth on
Parallel Bars with an 8.5.
The level 5 boys were impressive with Ben Waldecker, 10, placing tenth
in the AA with 49.9. He earned first on Floor with a 9.3, fifth on Vault
with 9.3, sixth on rings with 8.2, ninth on High Bar with 8.1 and tenth
on both Parallel Bars and Pommel, 8.3 and 6.7. Blake Taylor, 10, placed
tenth on three events, Vault, 9.1, Floor, 8.5, and Rings, 8.0. The boys

the season. The level 9 team came home victorious with the first place
team trophy.
Leading the team with second in the All Around with a score of 35.675

Grand Champions at Fall Festival Invitational
ETC’s
Levels 4, 5, and 6 all captured the first place team trophies at the
Hendersonville Fall Festival recently. They defeated seventeen other
teams from all over the state. The Level 6s were led by Madison Myers,
11, with first place on every event. She won the All-Around with a
36.925 and scored 9s or above on each event with an impressive 9.5 on
Beam. Caitlin Booker, 9, was also first in the AA with a 36.8. She
placed third on Vault with 9.3, first on Bars with 9.225, second on
Beam, 9.375, and fifth on Floor, 8.9.
Meg Tomayko, 9, placed second AA with 36.0. She scored a 9.6 on Vault
taking first, second on Bars, fifth on Beam, and third on Floor. Tatum
Myers, 9, placed third in the AA with 35.95. She was amazing on Beam
with a 9.675 taking first, 9.25 was fifth on Vault, sixth on Bars,
second on Floor. DeLaina McDonald, 8, was sixth AA with a 34.775. She
placed seventh on Vault, 9.225, sixth on Bars, and forth on Floor, 8.95.
Lauren Allen, 11, was third AA in her age group with a 34.45. She placed

ETC Gymnastics traveled to Maryville, TN recently to compete in the
Foothills Fall Classic.
The
Level 4 team took second place honors with an impressive team score of
114.075 missing first by .05. The team was led by Alexa Person, 9,
with a 38.325 All-around score placing first. She accomplished a
rare feat taking a 9.5 or better on every event. She placed first
on Vault with a 9.5 and first on Bars, 9.775. She earned second on both
